On Saturday’s broadcast of “Justice” on Fox News Channel, host Judge Jeanine Pirro asked guest Sheriff David Clarke how President Barack Obama can support Al Sharpton and Black Lives Matter and then say he is on the same side as the police.
An apparently fed up Clarke began by saying Obama “created the narrative” that has divided the black community and the police and that it’s “a shame” the President plays politics, rather than doing what is in the “best interests” of the American people.
“Look, this has gone on long enough. The President of the United States and his ilk need to get their boot off the back of the American police officers so that we can get up and go back the to help maintain what little quality of life exists in the American ghetto. We want to go back to enforce constitutionally approved laws, the rules of law,” responded Clarke.
“Until this onslaught, this smearing of the character, the integrity, the sacrificing of the American police officer, until it stops, these rising crime rates, this violence is going to continue and it’s to the detriment of the law abiding black community,” he added. “I think it’s a shame that the President plays politics, that politics plays into this; it’s not in the best interests of the American people and not in the interest of law-abiding black people.”
