During Thursday’s game between the Stanford Cardinals and the UCLA Bruins, Cardinals wide receiver Francis Owusu came down with what could be the leader for the 2015 season’s catch of the year.
In the third quarter and up 35-17, the Owusu lined up in the “wildcat” formation and did a reverse to get quarterback Kevin Hogan the ball. Hogan flung the ball just over 50 yards down the field and Owusu, adjusting to the under-thrown ball, reached around UCLA defensive back Jaleel Wadood and caught the ball by pinning it on Wadood’s back, similarly to Alabama’s Tyrone Prothro back in 2005.
