Van Jones: Resignation of ‘Conservative As Anybody’ Boehner Shows GOP ‘Right-Wing, Nativist’ Party

CNN Political Commentator and former green jobs advisor to President Obama Van Jones argued that the resignation of “conservative as anybody” House Speaker Representative John Boehner (R-OH) shows “you have a right-wing, nativist party” on Friday’s broadcast of “CNN Newsroom.”

Jones said Boehner was a “Nurse Ratchet” “keeping the asylum in order.” He added, “I think it throws some raw meat to this populist uprising in the Republican Party that has really been dragging the party farther and farther to the right. I don’t think you can look at this party now, when Boehner, who is as conservative as anybody is considered a moderate and too liberal to lead this party, I think you have a right-wing, nativist party. And I don’t know how that party can win a general election.”
