China Flaunts Military Strength with Parade Featuring 12,000 Troops in Tiananmen Square

Approximately 12,000 troops marched through the center of Beijing on Thursday as China comemorated the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II. The spectacle also included 200 fighter jets and a combination of 70,000 doves and balloons released into the Beijing skies.

Also in attendance were Russian President Vladimir Putin, President Park Geun-hye of South Korea and United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon
