ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter reacted on Thursday’s “SportsCenter” to New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady’s four-game “Deflate-gate” suspension being uplifted by federal judge Richard Berman, calling it an “embarrassment for the NFL.”
Schefter noted that the NFL set themselves up for embarrassment because they chose the court to hear the case, but refused to reach a settlement with Brady, which allowed them to fully lose their case that Brady purposefully deflated footballs for game usage.
“Both sides, unwilling to compromise, the NFL refused to give ground; the [NFL Players Association] and Tom Brady refused to give ground. Both thought that they had a valid argument and ultimately, in the end, Tom Brady gets the victory over the NFL. That’s an embarrassment for the NFL. The NFL got to pick the courthouse. They chose New York.”
