Kate Steinle’s father Jim, said that “the silence is deafening,” and her brother Brad added “nobody is being held accountable for Kate’s murder” on Tuesday’s “O’Reilly Factor” on the Fox News Channel.
Jim said he was frustrated over the “lack of movement” on sanctuary cities and illegal immigrant felons in the US.
Jim Steinle was then asked if any politicians, specifically California Senators Dianne Feinstein (D) and Barbara Boxer (D) contacted them. He responded, “the silence is deafening. We have not heard from anyone.” Brad Steinle added that the family did meet with Feinstein while they were in Washington, DC, but that there’s been “no movement” since the family left DC. Both added, when they were asked, that California Governor Jerry Brown (D) hadn’t spoken to them. Later on, Brad said that Feinstein was in favor of “putting something together that would push cities to cooperate with federal agencies.” Jim also said the family hadn’t heard from President Obama and that the family doesn’t feel like it has gotten justice.
Brad stated of the family’s lawsuit, “The point of the lawsuit is to bring to light that nobody is being held accountable for Kate’s murder.”
