Former World Series champion catcher and now baseball analyst for Canadian English-language CTV’s Sportsnet Gregg Zaun went after Kansas City Royals pitcher Yordano Ventura after Ventura called out Toronto Blue Jays star outfielder on Twitter. The tweets, in Spanish, have since been deleted but are roughly translated:
“We will meet again later and if you do that with me, you’ll see what I’m about. I don’t care about anybody. I used to respect you, but you’re a nobody. You got lucky this time, but MLB doesn’t get canceled after this season. Keep running your mouth. You need to stop giving signs. You’re gonna get it from me for being fresh and you’re a nobody.”
Zaun read an open letter out-loud to Ventura telling him to “stop writing checks with your mouth your skinny a** can’t catch” and to “stop acting like Tommy tough-guy while hiding behind your computer and a dozen teammates.”
