Friday at the White House press briefing, press secretary Josh Earnest said President Barack Obama would veto any attempt to defund Planned Parenthood from Republicans responding to the controversial videos showing Planned Parenthood doctors negotiating over the the sale of fetal tissue.
One reporter asked, “You weren’t’ exactly clear about this yesterday, so I am trying it another time. Would you veto spending bill that would include defunding Planned Parenthood?”
Josh Earnest replied, “What we have indicated in the past continues to be true today, that we have routinely opposed the inclusion of ideologically driven writers in the budget process. Certainly a driver that would on a whole-sale basis defund Planned Parenthood, which is the proposal of some Republicans in the House, is something that was certainly draw a presidential veto.”
