On Tuesday’s broadcast of Fox News Channel’s “The O’Reilly Factor,” host Bill O’Reilly and his two guest, “Imus in the Morning” producer Bernard McGuirk and “The Greg Gutfeld Show” host Greg Gutfeld, reacted to a suggestion from a guest on a MSNBC show over the weekend that “mis-gendering people” in the media should come with some type of fine to discourage the practice.
But according to O’Reilly, McGuirk and Gutfeld, the gender identification isn’t a simple task.
Partial transcript as follows:
O’REILLY: Okay. Now, in California they have a gender identity situation. All right? Gender identity. And if you go to college, in a state college, you have six genders with whom — from whom to choose. You can choose any one of the six. All right? So gender identity. Roll the tape.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
DANIELLE MOODIE-MILLS, NBC BLK CONTRIBUTOR: We need to stop mis-gendering people in the media and there needs to be some type of fine that’s put into place for outlets, for media outlets, whether they be print online radio or what have viewed that decide that they’re just not going to call people by their name.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
O’REILLY: All right. So, this loon wants to fine us if we mis-genderize – –
GUTFELD: I even don’t know what that means.
MCGUIRK: Well, you call Caitlyn Jenner he then you get a 50,000 fine.
O’REILLY: But — and pardon me for this. But from the waist down, he is as he according to she.
MCGUIRK: That’s true.
O’REILLY: Right?
MCGUIRK: You’re right.
O’REILLY: I’m trying to be accurate here on the fact.
MCGUIRK: At this point. That could change, I guess. I mean — with the idea but look their goal is to have gender neutral locker rooms, gender neutral bathrooms —
O’REILLY: Right. But if you have six choices, you have to have six different heads.
GUTFELD: Yes. No, this is progress, you had three choices, male, female and Schubert, I was sequential hermaphrodite during the 80s. So, I felt excluded. What we’re seeing right now is the end of identity when you can self-identify and everyone must cater. We used to have communities and we stress a unifying nature to a community —
MCGUIRK: Yes.
GUTFELD: It’s being placed with special interests so now, and this is the weirdest part, we only understand and respect and care about children as long as they’re designated as part of a special interest group.
O’REILLY: I want to give you the six categories that the poor college kids going out to school out there in California. They can be a male. All right? Male here on the panel?
GUTFELD: I’m a west (INAUDIBLE) —
O’REILLY: Okay. All right. There can be a trans male, trans man, I don’t know what it is. Trans female, trans woman. I guess that’s in the process of changing. You can be gender queer, gender, non-conforming and different identity. I don’t know what any of that means. But I guess you have a questionnaire that she got it like, to check off what you want to be.
MCGUIIRK: Yes. And really, I mean, what if you’re stuffed to animal or robots or something? I mean, what is that category —
O’REILLY: You know, what?
MCGUIRK: The bottom-line is, they want to get rid of urinals that would scare the hell out of all these guys and then we’re subjected to these longer lines like the ladies.
