Tuesday on Fox News Channel’s “On the Record with Greta Van Susteren,” Republican presidential candidate and billionaire business mogul Donald Trump defended his rival GOP candidate and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee saying the Iran nuclear deal was Obama leading Israelis to the “door of the oven.”
Trump said, “I’m OK with that. I think he’s a very good guy, Huckabee. I hear some people saying, ‘Oh, the tone.’ I saw Jeb Bush, who I think is also a nice person. But it’s not about tone. They’re chopping off Christians’ heads in Syria and lots of other places and we’re worried about tone. I think what Mike has done is he’s hit a nerve and has made people think about it. If he says it nice and softly, maybe that’s the way it is. This deal with Iran is a terrible idea. I think it’s going to lead to a nuclear proliferation.”
He continued, “I think everybody’s going to arm. I think it’s a disastrous deal, an incompetently done deal. We don’t even get our four people back. We get nothing. We get nothing. They got, a couple of years ago, a nuclear scientist back. We got nothing. The theory was we don’t get them because it was too complicated to ask. Too complicated. They didn’t read the art of the deal, by the way. They didn’t think to say, fellows, give us our prisoners back. That’s not too complicated.”
“On why President Obama and Secretary Kerry think it’s a good deal,” Trump said, “Maybe they’re not bright. I mean I’ve watched Kerry negotiating. I’ve said to people, is he bright? Is he an intelligent man? Maybe they’re not bright. Maybe there’s something wrong with them. As an example, why say 24 days? We have to go in immediately.”
