Stephen A. Smith broke news on ESPN2’s “First Take” about the long-awaited decision of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady’s appeal of the four-game suspension for his alleged participation in “DeflateGate,” saying that he is hearing Brady’s suspension will be upheld and that he destroyed his cell phone.
“They are going to uphold this four-game suspension from everything I’m hearing, barring a last-minute change. That is the plan within the next 24 to 48 hours, he is going to serve his four-game suspension. Not only that, Skip, I’m hearing some of the reasons why, just to throw it out there, remember when we had conversations about his text messages and refusing to show it? I’m hearing that Tom Brady actually destroyed his cell phone.”
