University of Alabama head coach Nick Saban has won four national championships as a head coach, but this apparently does not impress everybody. First overall pick of 2014 NFL Draft Jadeveon Clowney is one of those individuals.
Clowney was the consensus number one overall recruit coming out of high school in 2011 due to his combination of freakish size and athleticism and was coveted by all.
The hometown University of South Carolina ended up landing Clowney’s services, but he did share his experience with Saban during his recruitment in Monte Burke’s upcoming book “Saban: The Making of a Coach,” making fun of the coach’s short stature, as well as calling him “boring.”
“I don’t see no big deal like everybody else. They’d say, ‘He’s the king of all of football.’ The guy ain’t nothing but 5-5. He’s a short guy. Everybody’s going crazy on Nick Saban.
“He talked the whole time he was there. I was dozing off. He can talk. A lot. He talked for a whole straight hour.”
