On FNC’s “America’s Newsroom” on Thursday, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani offered his insights into a potential shooting at the Washington, D.C. Navy Yard, which turned out to be a false alarm.
Giuliani went on to explain that ISIS was indeed a threat to the United States, but added he thought the rogue element could be eliminated in short order given the proper attention.
“We should be more engaged in taking ISIS out,” he said. “We should have been doing it three years ago when [Sens.] John McCain and Lindsey Graham wanted the president to put troops in Syria and cut this thing off right at the very beginning. We should be using our special forces who are magnificent. And I believe, if the United States wanted to, in six months it could take out ISIS completely. It’s not like Iran. Long-term, I consider Iran a threat to America. ISIS is a threat that a good president, with the military we have, could take out in six months.”
