NBC News correspondent Sarah Dallof reported on MSNBC’s “Melissa Harris-Perry” on Saturday that Rev. Jesse Jackson is “surprised” and “delighted” by the defacement of monuments and removal of the Confederate flag by activists in Columbia, SC.
Harris-Perry then responded to the report by saying that the activists, one of which climbed up the flag pole and removed it against the requests of authorities to come down, and the other, who defaced monuments, were part of “nonviolent direction action video of the activists doing that work.”
Both parties were arrested and charged with defacing monuments on the spot there in Columbia.
