Comedian and talk show host Larry King wondered “Why would a college campus be a place where you have to be politically correct?” In an interview with “The Rubin Report with Dave Rubin” released on Wednesday.
After Rubin said that he had the sense that young people were taught that “anything that you say that is sort of out of the mainstream-think is automatically evil. It’s automatically racist and bigoted.” King said, “that shouldn’t be,” and that other comedians like Lenny Bruce and George Carlin “ran against the grain. … Healthy comedy, a lot of it hits home.”
He added, “college campuses [are] where irreverence should take place. Why would a college campus be a place where you have to be politically correct?” Although, he later stated that he had a hard time believing Jerry Seinfeld’s claim that he was too politically incorrect to play on college campuses. He later declared, “the great comedian takes no prisoners.”
