New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is having his appeal heard by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell today. He was initially hit with a four-game suspension for his reported “general awareness” of the deflation of game-used footballs.

Jim Gray, a sportscaster for Showtime, Fox and Westwood One, appeared on the Fox News Channel’s “America’s Newsroom” and said that Brady looks to become fully exonerated of any wrong doing in the case.

According to Gray, Brady could end up fighting this case and taking it to federal court if he is not fully exonerated and his four-game suspension is not lifted.

“If Tom Brady does not get complete exoneration, and have this reduced to zero games from four, I believe he will end up in federal court and test the case there,” Gray explained. “I don’t think Tom Brady is trying to fight on behalf of the organization. The organization said they will accept the penalty, but in terms of his name and his role, I believe Brady wants no games. The commissioner may say, ‘Let’s go down to two games,’ but I don’t think that will be good enough for Brady and his team. If it goes down to two games he will continue to fight.”

Back in May, Gray got the first interview with Brady since the release of the findings of the Wells Report, which tied Brady to the deflation allegations.
