During his Thursday show on “The Herd with Colin Cowherd” on ESPNU, host Colin Cowherd spoke out on the death toll in Qatar by workers in preparation of the 2022 World Cup, which Washington Post estimates to currently be around 1,200 and estimates another 4,000 by the time the World Cup is held.
Cowherd declared that the biggest corporations in America have a moral obligation to be disgusted with human rights violations and if they cared about human beings they should pull out their sponsorship from the 2022 World Cup.
“I think there’s a moral obligation for the biggest corporations in America to be disgusted with human rights violations. What is happening in Qatar is a disgusting atrocity in this world. 1,200 people, immigrants of that country have died. They project 4,000 will.”
He later added, “Corporations, talk is cheap. If you want to make global, radical changes and you deeply care with your billions in profit about human beings, not just profits, pull your money from FIFA if they don’t move the 2022 World Cup because what is happening in that country is revolting and disgusting.”
