On Friday’s “First Take” on ESPN2, co-host Skip Bayless reacted to the report that New York Knicks owner James Dolan will be naming former NBA star Isaiah Thomas as an owner of the WNBA’s New York Liberty. Thomas was accused of sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment in 2006, which resulted in a $11.5 million lawsuit paid out to the victim.
According to Bayless, it is “insultingly laughable” that Dolan is bringing in Thomas after his history with sexually harassing a woman and now for him to have a part in the WNBA.
“It is insultingly laughable to me that this man James Dolan would bring this man Isaiah Thomas after his involvement in this court case and the findings of the court and to be an owner of a women’s basketball team. It’s insulting to me because to Cari’s point, it is a bad idea and it is a bad look for the WNBA. Maybe James Dolan is a bad look, too. I’m with you on that one. But is this man dumb, naive or does he just delight in being everybody’s favorite villain here?”
