MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell argued that the White House’s optimism regarding the fight against ISIS “sounds more like wishful thinking” on Friday.
During an interview with Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL), she remarked, “This march by ISIS unopposed by the Iraqi Army, unopposed by the Syrian rebel forces, such as they are, it does not say very much for the administration’s strategy despite optimism from the secretary of state and even the president.”
Later she added, “At this stage, though, the president’s optimism and John Kerry’s optimism sounds more like wishful thinking.”
