On his Monday showing of “Olbermann” on ESPN2, host Keith Olbermann, in his “Worst Persons in the Sports World” segment, ripped Under Armour for their apology of their “Band of Ballers” shirt, which depicts a group of basketball players putting up a basketball goal and looks oddly similar to the iconic Joe Rosenthal photograph showing U.S. military planting the American Flag on Iwo Jima’s Mount Suribachi.
“Instead of brave and injured U.S. soldiers fighting for world domination, theirs had some morons playing hoops. ‘We deeply regret and apologize a t-shirt that was not reflective of our values in honoring and supporting our country’s heroes went on sale.’ Yes, because that happened by accident without the knowledge of anybody at Under Armour. The factory was hacked. It was a function of sun spots or lightning.”
