Legendary Florida State University football coach Bobby Bowden appeared as a guest on “The Paul Finebaum Show” on ESPN’s SEC Network on Tuesday to discuss his thoughts on Heisman winning quarterback Jameis Winston, who was just selected first overall by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFL Draft.
Winston stayed in the spotlight while a student at Florida State, being accused of sexual assault, getting suspended a game for yelling obscenities on top of a table in the school cafeteria, being cited for the shoplifting of crab legs from Publix, among other things.
Bowden made it clear that Winston’s actions were an embarrassment to the fans, as well as the school’s boosters.
“I think it’s a consensus among Florida State fans and boosters that [Winston] was an embarrassment in a lot of ways to the University.”
