Fox News Correspondent Leland Vittert had a tense exchange with Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake (D) and Rev. Al Sharpton on Thursday.
Vittert said that he asked Rawlings-Blake about FNC’s report that the mayor gave a “stand down” order. The clip begins with Vittert walking alongside the mayor and Sharpton, wondering “we can’t ask questions?” Sharpton informed Vittert he would have an opportunity to ask questions at a later press conference. Vittert then asks the mayor if his questions will be answered, Vittert got no response from the mayor, but Sharpton responded “at the press conference we will answer all questions.”
Someone then comes out of the crowd saying “excuse us” repeatedly, and his arm out, and Sharpton puts his hand out towards Vittert, who then goes backwards with his hands up. Vittert, in a later report stated that “police officers” “shoved me out of the way, who were trying to get her [the mayor] past us.”
