On Wednesday’s “The Herd with Colin Cowherd” on ESPN Radio, host Colin Cowherd reacted to Jameis Winston admitting on ESPN’s “Draft Academy” to being hooked up with free crab legs from Publix.
Cowherd explained that college stars typically are in small towns and are treated like celebrities and it is normal for college players to be given free things such as food, alcohol and even someone to do their homework
“College football stars, basketball stars, never pay for a cocktail. Get free food. Get the prettiest girls. Often have somebody do their home work. Don’t kid yourself. Don’t kid yourself. This instance, Jameis Winston, ‘Yeah, a guy said he would hook me up’ so he had a guy at a grocery store that whenever he came in, ‘I’ll hook you up, whatever you need. That’s the life of college football stars in rural communities. That’s the real life.’
