“Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul” actor Jonathan Banks appeared as a guest on Wednesday’s airing of “Olbermann” on ESPN2 and was asked to share his thoughts on the Washington Redskins name.
According to Banks, if the name offends somebody, Redskins owner Dan Snyder should change their name.
“If somebody is offended, and they say, ‘I’m offended,’ then change the name. It’s not a big deal. It’s just not a big deal. I have friends that are American Indians, these two in the west that they’re my age and they went, ‘I always rooted for them because they were Indians.’ When it occurs to them and they are enlightened by a younger generation, if that’s the right word, or at least shown that it is offensive they feel that way, too, change the name. Just change it. It’s not a big deal. Change the name.”
Banks also invoked Snyder’s religion in his argument for the name change.
“They will make a fortune [if they change the name],” Banks added. “And what is this guy? We commit genocide on the American Indians. He is Jewish, right — Snyder?
