SC Mayor Condemns Police Killing of Unarmed Black Suspect; Protesters Interrupt Press Conference

On Wednesday, North Charleston, SC Mayor Keith Summey condemned the shooting of Walter Scott, an unarmed black man, by North Charleston police officer Michael Slager.

Summey also announced officers in his city’s police department would be wearing body cameras.

However, during the press conference, Summey was interrupted by protesters chanting, “The mayor’s got to go!”
