On Tuesday’s “The Herd with Colin Cowherd” on ESPNU and ESPN Radio, host Colin Cowherd compared how hard fans are on referees to how hard the media are on police, in drawing an analogy to the refereeing Monday’s NCAA Basketball Championship game.
Cowherd noted that the media jumps on cops while they do the work that nobody else wants to do.
“Yes, there have been incidents all over this country that are grotesque and racially-tinged,” Cowherd said. “But the media, look at what cops have to deal with. They’re not dealing with you and I. it’s the bottom of the barrel. It’s the same people. And the media just jumps on cops. They do the work none of us want to do. Give them a break.”
