Sgt. Matt Vierkant, who served with Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl and Sondra Andrews whose son, 2nd Lt. Darryn Andrews died searching for Bergdahl stated that they want him sentenced to life in prison on Thursday’s “Hannity” on the Fox News Channel.
Vierkant stated that he believes Bergdahl should receive twenty years to life in prison, with a possibility of parole after twenty years, while Andrews said “I think life…I just don’t think anything less than life is coming close — to what he did to our young men and women.”
Vierkant also said “we all know that he deserted.” And Andrews also reported that she was not told that her son died searching for Bergdahl until the news broke and his comrades contacted them.
The two also took issue with Susan Rice’s comments that Bergdahl served “with honor and distinction” and Hillary Clinton’s argument that the circumstances of Bergdahl’s captivity are irrelevant.
