Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed that “no amount of pressure will cause me to abandon the security needs of Israel” in reaction to reports that the US could cease its support for Israel at the UN on Thursday’s “Sean Hannity Show.”
Netanyahu said “I hope that’s not true, because, A. We are allies and American has no better ally than Israel, and Israel has no better ally than America. Secondly, the United States has always said, and the president has always said that the only way to get any kind of general peace is through negotiations and not by diplomatic dictate, at the UN or anywhere else. And, third, if there is pressure to be put, it’s on the Palestinians who’ve embraced Hamas and walked out from the talks.”
Netanyahu added, “in any case, no amount of pressure will cause me to abandon the security needs of Israel, and we will not endanger our country[‘s] survival for terms that would endanger that survival. It’s just not going to happen, it’s important. And I would like to believe that that’s not accurate reporting.”
