On ESPN2’s “First Take,” Stephen A. Smith responded Tuesday to the report that the Chicago Bears plan on keeping quarterback Jay Cutler, despite rumors that the Bears were looking to trade him.
Smith bashed Cutler, saying that he is a “complete waste of time as a quarterback.
“The word that comes to my mind is sad. Sad at the ineptitude of the Chicago Bears. Sad for the city of Chicago. Sad because clearly they are a franchise that is still lost in the wilderness, have not been able to lift themselves above the abysmal state of affairs largely created by the presence of Jay Cutler, who, to me, is not only a joke but a complete waste of time as a quarterback. He is not a leader. He is not a winner. Jay Cutler is a complete waste of space. It is that simple.”
