State Department Deputy Spokesperson Marie Harf criticized a reporter for “fact-checking me live and instantaneously during my press briefing” on Friday.
After Harf said “each individual employee has a responsibility under the federal regulations to preserve their own records, with a State Department account or a personal account. When you walk out the door, it is your responsibility to provide those,” in a discussion of Hillary Clinton’s e-mails.
After one of the reporters asked about her use of the phrase “when you walk out” and another stated “there’s a difference, because in a FOIA request–” Harf responded, “that was colloquial, Josh, but thank you for fact-checking me live and instantaneously during my press briefing. You should come more often, I like it.”
