HBO’s “Real Time” host Bill Maher argued that President Obama couldn’t reveal his position on gay marriage because “he was already black and he didn’t want to give Bill O’Reilly a heart attack” on Friday.

During his closing, which largely criticized politicians who smoked marijuana, but then advocated for tough drug laws (Maher especially focused on Jeb Bush), and urging President Obama to repeal laws against the drug and pardon those in jail for using the drug, Maher said “in David Axelrod’s new book, he confirms that Obama actually was always for gay marriage, he just couldn’t say it for a long time because, well, he was already black and he didn’t want to give Bill O’reilly a heart attack. So, he waited, and then made up some s*it about evolving.”
