Talk radio host Laura Ingraham argued that “Barack Obama doesn’t have to lobby the Republicans on immigration” and that the president did not spend much time discussing his executive action because “you don’t shove it in their faces when you’re about to get what you want” on Wednesday.
“People are wondering why Barack Obama didn’t talk much about immigration, there was a passing reference to immigration…because he knows, or at least he thinks, he’s already won the argument. Barack Obama doesn’t have to lobby the Republicans on immigration. In fact, it’s better for Boehner if he doesn’t make some big show on executive amnesty, if he doesn’t really shove it in everybody’s faces, it’s better for him if he lets the Republicans do their show votes on repeal and so forth, but that in the end, the Republicans aren’t going to stop him…so why shove it in the Republicans’ face…you don’t shove it in their faces when you’re about to get what you want” she stated.
