Democratic pollster Pat Caddell argued that Republicans were “blowing an opportunity” on the Keystone XL pipeline on Tuesday’s “Your World with Neil Cavuto” on the Fox News Channel.
“I think on the pipeline for instance, I think the Republicans, once again, are blowing an opportunity to take up the point…that all of this was done not by politicians, this energy revolution, it was done because of american ingenuity and what’s happening is — and the president literally fought this every step of the way as illustrated by Keystone, and the question there is, we’re in a confrontation, really with OPEC. They want to destroy what we’re doing. I haven’t heard a politician yet say these prices are because of what we’ve done…this competition, this challenge, and we need to make sure we still don’t let our — the baby here of our great innovation strangle in the bathtub, and I haven’t heard any of that. The Republicans need a more imaginative — both parties are locked into these short-term labels and quick 30-second daily soundbites rather than larger vision” he stated.
