On “Fox News Sunday,” chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Dempsey refused to back up President Barack Obama’s Christmas claim to troops in Hawaii that Afghanistan won’t again be a source of terror attacks against the United States.

Dempsey said, “The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff tends to be rather cautious and careful, and he also tends to be a little paranoid. You know, terrorism can ebb and flow. It may not be there now, and it could be there tomorrow. When I said earlier we’ve got to keep an eye on this, well we’ve got to keep an eye on this. We’ve have to recognize that terrorism flows where instability lurks.”
