Monday on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports,” guest host Luke Russert said former Gov. Jeb Bush (R-FL) will have to deal with the “toxicity” of the Bush family brand during his potential 2016 presidential bid.
“One thing that I find fascinating is, we talk about his brother, and you can’t really point to something specifically that the modern GOP holds on to and lifts up that his brother did as something they are extremely proud of, that they want to go to the mat for. You had a lot of references to Ronald Reagan, you hear a few to Bush 41, you don’t hear a lot to W. So there is a toxicity of that brand. Not only nationally, but within Republican primary political circles. That’s a tough thing for Jeb Bush to encounter.”
