Axelrod: Obama Thinks ‘If Congress Wants to Help, That’s Great’

Former Obama Senior Advisor David Axelrod said that President Obama’s thinking going into his last two years in officer is”I have a shot to do some things…and if Congress wants to help, that’s great. If they don’t, we’ll do what we can without them” on Monday’s “Hardball” on MSNBC.

“It’s as if he feels free of all that, and he has reminded us, you know the conventional wisdom the day after the election, was ‘Obama’s dead, the last two years are going to be dreary.’ And here we are six weeks later, and we’re talking about resurgence. I think he feels it. He feels like, ‘I have a shot to do some things that are going to have lasting importance for the country, for the world, for people, and I’m going to do it. And if Congress wants to help, that’s great. If they don’t, we’ll do what we can without them'” Axelrod declared of Obama.
