Forbes columnist Gordon Chang argued that unless the Obama administration takes serious action, the hacking of Sony will be “just the first” incident of a regime using cyber warfare in an attempt to prevent the publishing of content they don’t like on Thursday’s “The Rundown with Jose Diaz-Balart” on MSNBC.
“The biggest picture implication, is that we now have a hard-line regime, Pyongyang, dictating to Americans what they can watch. And that really goes to the core of our free society. This is really important. So, for instance, if The New York Times writes something that China doesn’t like, they no longer will just deny a visa to a Times reporter, they can turn off the lights at New York Times headquarters. So, this can escalate. And I think that Sony is just the first, unless the Obama administration imposes costs on North Korea and perhaps on China as well,” he stated.
