On Sunday’s “MediaBuzz” on the Fox News Channel, Daily Beast columnist Ana Marie Cox argued that recent reporting that calls details of a claimed sexual assault in Lena Dunham’s recent memoir “Not That Kind of Girl” into question “tarnishes” Dunham’s credibility.
“I don’t think that there’s any question about whether it tarnishes her credibility as a storyteller about true events. She is a storyteller in another way, I mean, she’s a very talented storyteller. I think she made a huge mistake with a way she went about handling this in her memoir…and I wish she had handled it differently,” Cox stated although she did offer praise of the handling of the “aftermath” of the revelation that Dunham’s accusations had significant holes in them.
