National Journal Senior Political Columnist and Editorial Director Ron Fournier said that the president’s planned executive order on immigration could cause the 2016 election to be like the 2014 election with low turnout among Hispanics on Wednesday’s “On the Record” on the Fox News Channel.
“We’re all assuming Hispanics will be for this. If right now if we don’t have a majority of Hispanics who want him to do this by fiat, we could very much have in the next election, the same thing that happened in this election. Which was, of course, Hispanics are not going to vote for Republicans, but they could stay home. They see, a lot of them already see this as pandering…Hispanics know when they’re being pandered to and they’re being used politically, and they can see through this” he declared.
