President Obama said that stopping deportation for individuals covered under the DREAM Act would be “ignoring the law,” difficult to defend legally,” and “not an option” in a clip from a September 2013 interview broadcast on Monday’s “Jose Diaz-Balart” on MSNBC.
When Obama was asked about halting deportations for non-DREAMers back in September 2013 by Diaz-Balart, he said, “if we start broadening that, then essentially I would be ignoring the law in a way that I think would be very difficult to defend legally. So that’s not an option.”
