Thursday on the campaign trail, first lady Michelle Obama claimed Sen. Mark Udall (D-CO) was a “fifth-generation Coloradan.”
“As a fifth-generation Coloradan, Mark understands what makes this state special. He understands the values of independence, and fairness–all the things that folks here believe in.”
Udall was born in Arizona and moved to Colorado until after he graduated from college.
Udall opponent, Rep. Cory Gardner (R-CO) is in fact a fifth-generation Coloradan who’s family can be traced back to the 1800’s in the state.
A few weeks ago Obama messed up the name of Iowa U.S. Senate Democratic candidate Bruce Braley, calling him “Bailey” instead.
