Political Analyst: 99% Support of Obama Shaheen's 'Achilles' Heel'

Wednesday on CBS Boston’s WBZ, political analyst Jon Keller called Sen. Jeanne Shaheen’s (D-NH) support of 99 percent of President Barack Obama’s policies the “Achilles heel” of the senator’s re-election campaign.

“Earlier in that debate [with Republican opponent Scott Brown], you saw the ‘Achilles heel,’ if you will, of the Shaheen re-election campaign, and that is her association with President Obama, whose job approval rating has bottomed out in New Hampshire,” Keller said.

“We’re seeing this in midterm elections around the country, where the President is a real drag on Democrats running for office, and Jeanne Shahenn has not found a way to explain her 99 percent voting record in support of the Obama agenda to the satisfaction of New Hampshire voters.”

“Now, it’s a dead heat, according to our poll, so she’s hanging in there, but that is really something to watch down the stretch to see how that breaks,” Keller concluded.
