Monday at the Forbes “Under 30 Summit” in Philadelphia, Monica Lewinsky, the former White House intern whose affair with then-President Bill Clinton eventually resulted in impeachment proceedings, addressed the scandal and the damage it did in her life.
Lewinsky said, “I was a 22 year old intern, and more than averagely romantic, and I fell in love with my boss in a 22-year old sort of way. It happened, but my boss was President of the United States.”
“Overnight, I went from being a completely private figure, to a publicly humiliated one. I was patient zero – the first person to have their reputation completely destroyed worldwide via the Internet,” she added.
