On Wednesday’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports” on MSNBC, NBC News Correspondent Mark Potter stated that CDC and local officials knew that a second healthcare worker had contracted the Ebola virus, but that local officials neglected to notify the media of this fact during a Wednesday press briefing.
“The CDC, the local officials. They knew about this. They had to know about this before that news conference [with local officials]. Frontier Airlines was notified at 1:00 a.m., if I read the e-mail correctly, Mountain Time, [Frontier’s statement says they were notified around 1:00 am Mountain Time] and that news conference was a lot later than that. So, if they knew this, if the CDC was telling this to Frontier Airlines, that statement that we might have some more cases really seems quite ironic right now because it may mean that the concern is much greater than we were led to believe.”
