In appearance on Monday’s “America’s Newsroom” on the Fox News Channel, Sen. Pat Roberts (R-KS), who is locked in a close contest for reelection against independent candidate Greg Orman, touted the conservative support he is getting in the late stages of this election cycle.
“The Tea Party Express has endorsed me,” he said. “We just had Ted Cruz in who endorsed me. Laura Ingraham has endorsed me. All factions of the party have endorsed me. And we’ve got Rand Paul coming in — he is going to endorse me. We are talking to Tea Party folks, we are reaching out to them and just the other day that we had talked with that are endorsing me. They know a vote for Pat Roberts is to regain the majority be. They also know my opponent is not an independent by vote, by deed, by donation where he stands on the issue. He will be a rubber stamp. The president himself said this election is a referendum on his programs, this his policy, his legacy. Kansans do not want a rubber stamp for that.”
