Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (D-FL) refused to deny allegations that she had mismanaged the DNC on Tuesday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “The Daily Rundown.”
Host Peter Alexander asked, “There [has] been some criticism of your management of the DNC and suggestions that you were soliciting funds on your own behalf, on a personal behalf. Would you concede that there have been some flaws, have you made some mistakes, and are there some regrets, specifically that if you had to do it over again, you would do differently?”
Wasserman-Schultz responded, “What I’m focused on is making sure that over the next 28 days that our candidates have the resources that they need,” and argued that politics should not be a distraction from the issues at stake in the 2014 elections.
Alexander followed up with, “You deny all those allegations?” to which Wasserman-Schultz said “my focus is on the next 28 days.”
Alexander even offered Wasserman-Schultz an out, stating, “So you deny them and it’s done, and we’ll be done asking about this, right?”
Wasserman-Schultz refused to deny the allegations, instead declaring, “I was elected to a four-year term thanks to the support of Barack Obama, which I still very much appreciate, and look forward to turning to the 2016 election and making sure that we can do everything we can to elect a Democratic president as the 45th president of the United States.”
