Tuesday on Newsmax TV’s “America’s Forum,” Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) said he would need a intelligence briefing to believe reports that Monday’s U.S. air strikes in Syria didn’t need congressional approvals because of a “imminent threat” to the homeland posed by al Qaeda operatives, the Khorasan Group.
Vitter said the administration has “cried wolf,” right before an election in the past thus he said, “I’m going to absolutely want detailed briefings.”
He added, “Quite frankly lots of these statements in the past, lots of these statement in regards to the prisoner swaps, several months ago and other things proved not to be true.”
