Report: Billion-Dollar ObamaCare Contractor Processes Only Fraction of Projected Applications

In a report that aired on St. Louis CBS affiliate KMOV 4 on Tuesday, Chris Nagus followed up on earlier reporting that a St. Louis-area processing facility for the government contractor Serco, a billion-dollar ObamaCare contractor, was wasting the taxpayer dollar in employing people and giving them little to do.

Nagus unveiled the results of FOIA request to determine just how much of the work Serco had promised to deliver had actually been deliver, which turned out to be just a fraction of what a representative of the company had told a congressional committee a year ago.

“We submitted a Freedom of Information request to see how many applications were processed by Serco during that time period,” Nagus said. “Months later, we finally have our answer. Remember [John Lau, Serco program director for CMS] anticipated 6.2 million. According to CMS records, just over 270,000 applications were actually processed, less than 5 percent of the total anticipated.”
