ABC’s “The View” co-host Rosie O’Donnell expressed confusion over the identity of columnist and author Charles Krauthammer while Nicolle Wallace agreed that the president doesn’t love people on Tuesday.
The group discussed Krauthammer’s recent remarks that the president was a narcissist, with O’Donnell stating that she didn’t know who Krauthammer was or what he did for a living.
All the panelists seemed to agree that all celebrities and politicians are narcissists to some degree, but the discussion turned heated after Wallace argued that president has a hard time relating to Congress because he doesn’t love people. Panelist Rosie Perez shot back that such an assertion “bullcrap” and that Obama was “very personable.” Whoopi Goldberg argued that Congress was at fault for the strained relationship between the president and the legislative branch.
Wallace later clarified that “I don’t think he loves, and he’s talked about not loving the theater side of the job. I’m not saying things that all Democrats disagree with.”
The segment concluded with Wallace and O’Donnell discussing whether Wallace’s comments were any different from Kanye West’s infamous statement that President Bush didn’t care about black people, a statement that O’Donnell appeared to defend. Wallace countered that West’s comments were untrue because of the work President George W. Bush did to re-build New Orleans.
