Friday after the conclusion of the NATO Summit in Wales, President Barack Obama said he “intends to take action” “fairly soon” on an executive order to grant amnesty to possible upwards of 5 million illegal immigrants currently living in the United States.
The president explained that Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson and Attorney General Eric Holder have already sent recommendations for actions he can legally take.
“My expectation is fairly soon I’ll be considering what the next steps are,” Obama said.
The president claimed in light of Congress refusing to pass the Senate bill on immigration reform, he must take action to stop Congress from “holding America back” and aid our stalled economy.
